Rusty Dankbud went at Miners Foundry to watch Kevin Kiley pull a vanishing act on the Indivisible Nevada County town hall, leaving a room full of Bay Area transplant, Trump-deranged, Prius-piloting relics who ditched San Francisco for bucolic Nevada County clutching their “Resist” pins and unraveling into a woke frenzy. The townhall turned into a three-hour TDS therapy session with keynote preacher Supervisor Heidi Hall, Nevada County’s self-anointed queen of sanctimony, leading the charge like a progressive televangelist on a righteous bender.

On March 10, 2025, over 400 people packed the Eric Rood Administrative Center in Nevada City, California, for Congressman Kevin Kiley’s community office hours, an event touted by The Union as a platform for constituent concerns in California’s Third District. What could have been a rallying point for real change devolved into a showcase of the “woke mind virus” and a gathering of virtue signalers more intent on preaching than solving problems.

Initiating significant reforms within the Democratic Party by no more sidelining Democratic Presidential candidates like Bernie Sanders and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and giving every Democrat an equal opportunity to run for President will go part of the way to repair the Democrat Party.

The Democrat party will now throw out 14 million people’s votes in the primaries and allow the same party leaders to undemocratically pick a new candidate. Had Democrats allowed free and open debate in its primaries this year, the people of the Democrat party may have chosen a more democratic path.

People in our local community are looking for real solutions to problems that don’t involve the local government. Our local government spends over one-third of $1 billion a year and has not solved any of our local problems. The idea of liberty as espoused by Robert Kennedy Jr. offers us a real solution for our local community as a whole.
