Fran Freedle, Incumbent Candidate for Republican Central Committee, District 4

I am Fran Freedle, a candidate running for a seat on the Nevada County Republican Central Committee. It is the structure resulting from State law that creates county-level partisan representation in a political organization that represents the values of the political parties in each county.

The membership is based upon voter registration and is divided by supervisor district.

What is unique this election season is that we have more candidates than available seats in the 4th Supervisor District – 6 candidates are vying for 5 seats but only in the 4th district. All other supervisor districts have only the number of interested candidates for the number of seats, and in one, District 5 we continue to try to fill vacant seats as it includes Truckee and it is hard to convince Republicans to come to Grass Valley for meetings though we offer remote attendance for them.

I have been a member of the Nevada County Central Committee since 2000 and have served as the Treasurer since 2014. This is the first time I have run for office.

I am also a Delegate to the California Republican Party and have attended numerous conventions in California fulfilling my responsibilities. I am the Secretary of California Republican Party Treasurer’s Association.

During my tenure I have fully participated in all activities of the Central Committee. This includes working on elections, walking door-to-door, helping candidates, attending rallies, attending meetings, supporting all activities of the Central Committee.

As the Treasurer I file all of the Federal Elections Commission, and State FPPC Reports as well as provide financial services, monthly reports, and everything relating to the Central Committee’s financial needs. It is a big job, especially in election years when over 20 reports must be filed.

I am the Parliamentarian and serve on the Board of Directors of Nevada County Republican Women Federated. I have been on the board since 2002 serving in many capacities.

In our community I volunteer to manage many non-profit financial accounts giving me a wide association with lots of groups and I have developed long-lasting friendships.  I also have a parliamentary background and offer advice when requested.

I like writing and submit articles and letters to the local media on Republican topics that often spur responses.

I am a life-long Soroptimist and have participated for many years in service to our community. I am a co-founder of the KARE (Kids Assistance and Respite in Emergencies) Crisis Nursery that helps very young children from birth through age 5 when the family is in crisis. I established the family court visitation program at the nursery providing a neutral space for estranged parents to visit with their children. I am their Treasurer and Parliamentarian.

I am active in my church, Grace Lutheran Church, and serve as the Treasurer.

I am a home owner and love to garden. My German Shepherd keeps me fit by taking me for mile-long walks.

From this background I am hopeful you will consider me a worthy candidate for your vote.
